About Valverde Arts
Hey, I’m Christian Valverde, I’m a self-taught abstract artist from Kansas City, and I’ve been making things for as long as I can remember.
What started at age 17 with my first paintbrush has turned into 15+ years of exhibitions across the country — from Brooklyn’s Art Library to LA’s iam8bit Gallery. My paintings have hung alongside works by Matisse, Picasso, and Dali, but what matters most to me is creating work that connects.
Each piece you see here is one-of-a-kind. I work primarily with acrylics on hand-made canvas, building layers over time. Some pieces come together in a few intense sessions. Others take years. When something isn’t right, I’ll destroy months of work and start over. That commitment to authenticity means every piece has earned its place.
No shortcuts. No reproductions.
Just honest work from the hands and heart.
Explore the Collections
I organize my work into three collections—Luci, Dogma, and Reflections. Each one has its own personality, its own questions to ask. Some pieces demand attention. Others invite you to sit with them awhile. Find the one that resonates with you.

THE DOGMA COLLECTION
Questions about faith, belief, and what we hold sacred. These pieces don’t provide answers — they invite conversation.

THE LUCI COLLECTION
Rare, gallery-quality pieces on large hand-made canvas. The most dramatic and time-intensive work I create. For serious collectors.

THE REFLECTIONS COLLECTION
Intimate works born from lived experience. Each piece captures a moment — quiet or seismic — processed through memory, emotion, and time.
