Animal Prints is a raw, visceral piece from my early years—created in 2009 when I was deeply influenced by the music and messages of Dead Prez. The bold coral tones and aggressive black marks reflect the intensity of that time, exploring themes of struggle, identity, and the fight for survival.

This piece carries an energy I can’t fully explain now, nearly two decades later. What I do know is that it emerged from a moment when I was wrestling with big questions—about history, justice, and what it means to push back against forces trying to contain you. The layered textures and chaotic marks feel like something breaking free.

It’s one of those early works that still holds power. The kind of painting that reminds you where you came from.
